Position Overview
We are looking for a talented English proficient Curriculum Writer to develop comprehensive curricula for students from Pre‑Kindergarten through grade 6. The ideal candidate will have experience working with First Nations communities and must be familiar with the Quebec education program of study. This role involves creating both student and teacher resources, including manuals, peripheral materials and kits, with a focus on language development and cultural immersion.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop age‑appropriate curricula for Pre‑Kindergarten to 6th grade that align with Quebec educational requirements.
- Collaborate in order to incorporate Indigenous perspectives, language, and cultural elements into the curriculum.
- Create detailed teachers’ manuals and peripherals materials and kits to support effective teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with educators, cultural advisors, and community members to ensure content accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
- Ensure all materials meet Quebec’s educational standards and best practices in language development.
- Revise and update curricula based on feedback and evolving educational needs.
Qualifications
- M.A. in Education Technology or equivalent or Bachelor of Arts in Education with teaching experience, curriculum development related in the field of study.
- Proven experience in curriculum development for K-12 education within Quebec.
- Strong background in language development and literacy education, preferably within Indigenous communities.
- Strong technical skills using a suite of apps/software including Google, Microsoft and AI.
- Familiarity with Quebec’s educational requirements, curriculum standards, and assessment practices.
- Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, community members, and cultural knowledge of keepers and elders.
- Knowledge of Indigenous languages and cultural practices is a plus.
