Mission
The Living Patterns Lab at the SB Faculty of EPFL is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support our team in cutting‑edge scientific research. Our lab combines microscopy, image analysis, and biophysical measurements to uncover the mechanisms of cellular organization and function. We have a particular focus on cilia and cellular mechanics, studying a variety of organisms including Chlamydomonas and Paramecium. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to research associated with the ERC funded project Xtrm Cells.
MainDuties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate with researchers to establish new techniques (e.g., CRISPR, mass spectrometry, RNAi) and assays in the lab. Assist with established workflows and microscopy experiments
- Contribute to research projects in collaboration with graduate students and postdocs
- Support maintenance of laboratory cell stocks
- Assist with procurement and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Minimum CFC or equivalent diploma;
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields - Experience in molecular biology and microscopy is a plus.
- Proficient in common computer software (e.g., MS Office)
- Good command of English
