About the Role

The I&I Officer will deliver a robust, intelligence‑driven anti‑doping program by conducting impartial and confidential investigations into potential anti‑doping violations and by collecting, analysing, disseminating, and acting on intelligence.

The I&I Officer will work closely with colleagues across the ITA, as well as with external I&I stakeholders, law enforcement, and other relevant partners.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct intelligence‑led investigations by collecting credible, admissible evidence to build cases for prosecuting Anti‑Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) under ITA Partners’ jurisdictions.
  • Lead, coordinate, and conduct investigative and/or intelligence interviews with athletes, athlete support personnel, and other relevant individuals involved or potentially involved in ADRVs.
  • Produce comprehensive, objective reports to support investigative, intelligence, results management, and prosecution processes.
  • Gather, process, evaluate, and analyse information from all available sources and convert it into actionable intelligence to detect, prevent, and disrupt doping activities.
  • Assess and coordinate the approved dissemination of sensitive information.
  • Support the identification, recruitment, and management of confidential information sources relating to anti‑doping matters handled on behalf of ITA Partners.
  • Collaborate regularly with external partners—including WADA, RADOs/NADOs, other anti‑doping or integrity agencies, and international/national law enforcement and public authorities—to share intelligence and coordinate investigative activities.
  • Ensure robust internal and external investigative processes are developed and effectively implemented, and contribute to strengthening the ITA’s investigative capabilities, including through knowledge‑sharing with external partners.
  • Coordinate with other ITA Departments to deliver actionable intelligence and support intelligence‑led approaches across ITA anti‑doping programmes.
  • Contribute to operational and strategic decision‑making based on investigative or intelligence outcomes and detected modus operandi of doping activities.
Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in both intelligence and investigations. However, applicants with stronger expertise in one area as opposed to the other could also be considered.

  • Strong commitment to protecting the integrity of sport and its athletes.

  • Rigorous critical and lateral thinking skills and investigative logic, and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information; possess impeccable standards of integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple case files simultaneously in a structured, methodological, and organised manner.
  • Demonstrated capacity to quickly become a subject‑matter expert across diverse fields and self‑reflect on areas of improvement.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight, competing deadlines.
  • A driven, service‑oriented team player with an investigative mindset and “can do” attitude who is service oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English communication skills.
