Charles Levick have partnered with a global Energy Trading business. We have been commissioned to find a highly motivated Head of Intraday Trading as they continue to expand their ever growing team.

• Lead the creation, development, and execution of algorithmic trading strategies across short‑term electricity markets, including day‑ahead, intraday, and imbalance time frames
• Own full P&L accountability for algorithmic trading activities, ensuring strategies align with trading objectives and risk appetite
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts, data scientists, and trading desks managing asset portfolios to ensure coherent strategy design and cross‑desk efficiency
• Build and lead a high‑performing algorithmic trading team, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement
• Define and execute a strategic roadmap for the growth and expansion of algorithmic trading capabilities

• Extensive experience in electricity markets, including short‑term trading and balancing mechanisms
• Advanced proficiency in Python, with a strong track record in developing and maintaining algorithmic trading systems and data pipelines
• Skilled in time series analysis and machine learning, with hands‑on experience applying quantitative methods to market forecasting and signal generation
• Deep understanding of European energy market regulations and their impact on automated and algorithmic trading strategies
• Proven leadership experience, including building, mentoring, and managing high‑performing quantitative and algorithmic trading teams
• Excellent communication skills, able to effectively bridge trading, quantitative research, and technology teams
