Downstream Process Scientist (DSP) – Contract
Lausanne, Switzerland | Onsite
We are currently supporting a leading biopharmaceutical company in the Lausanne area who are looking for an experienced Downstream Process Scientist to support a Drug Substance process development program
.
This is a full-time, onsite contract role for 10–12 months
, with an ideal start date between February and March
.
- Hands‑on downstream process development for biologics and hormone‑related products
- Development, optimization, and troubleshooting of chromatography processes (capture, intermediate, polishing)
- TFF / UFDF process development
, including concentration and diafiltration steps - Operation and development work on ÄKTA Pure / ÄKTA Avant systems (UNICORN software)
- Use of Repligen TFF skids (e.g. FS15, KR2i) or equivalent systems
- Lab‑based execution of experiments, data analysis, and technical documentation
- Support scale‑up activities and process robustness studies
- Close collaboration with Analytical Development, MSAT, and Manufacturing teams
- Work within a GMP / regulated biopharmaceutical environment
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in Downstream Process Development
- Strong background in chromatography process development for biologics
- Solid experience with TFF / UFDF
- Hands‑on experience with ÄKTA chromatography systems (Pure / Avant or equivalent)
- Experience with Repligen TFF skids or comparable filtration platforms
- Biopharmaceutical / biotech industry background
- Onsite availability in Switzerland (local profiles preferred due to project timeline)
- French language skills are a strong advantage
, as the team is based in French‑speaking Switzerland - Ability to blend into a French‑Swiss working culture
, collaborate closely on‑site, and communicate effectively within cross‑functional teams - English required for technical documentation and cross‑site collaboration
- Experience with hormone purification or complex biologics
- Exposure to tech transfer, MSAT, or late‑stage development activities
- Experience working in contract or fast‑paced project environments
- Location: Onsite – Lausanne area, Switzerland
- Contract length: 10–12 months
- Start date: February–March
- Work model: Full‑time, lab‑based
