Job Overview :
Scotland Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a neuro, surgical, and cardiac intensive care setting. The nurse will also float to the PCU/stepdown unit as needed. This position offers an excellent opportunity for first-time travelers, with locals considered at a slightly reduced rate.

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in the ICU and float units (PCU/stepdown).
Manage critically ill patients, including those with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias and titrate vasoactive/cardiac drips.
Administer continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and emergency medications.
Perform advanced procedures including arterial/central/PICC line management, 12-lead ECGs, and ventilator care.
Assist with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients.
Apply protocols for CVA/acute stroke management, hypothermia therapy, and post-cardiac surgery care.
Maintain accurate patient documentation using Epic charting system.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.
Adhere to infection prevention, isolation precautions, and safety protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications | Education/License:
Valid Registered Nurse license (State or Compact) required.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience.
Previous charge experience required.
Preferred experience in Neuro, Cardiac, or Surgical ICU.

Certifications :
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required)
CPI preferred

Skills : CVVHD/CRRT, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, ventilator management, central and arterial line care, medication titration, procedural sedation, emergency response, and EKG interpretation.
