DG Unlimited seeks a freelance, part-time Creative Communications Assistant to join Creative Compass and shape how we share our work and champion Dumfries and Galloway’s creative sector.
Are you a creative storyteller with a love of words, visuals and ideas? Do you enjoy bringing people, projects and communities to life through content? DG Unlimited is seeking a freelance, part-time Creative Communications Assistant to join our growing Creative Compass team. This brand‑new role is an exciting opportunity to help shape how we communicate the work of DG Unlimited and champion the creative and cultural sector across Dumfries and Galloway and beyond.
CommissionFee
£115 per 8‑hour day, with the possibility of additional contracted hours. This is a Creative Scotland‑funded freelance commission. The role is 4 hours per day, up to 8 hours per week, with flexibility as agreed. It includes a 3‑month probationary period with potential extension to a 12‑month contract, 52 weeks in total.
About the roleCreative Compass is a major programme supporting creative practitioners with professional development, leadership opportunities and sector‑shaping workshops across the South of Scotland. As Creative Communications Assistant, you will produce engaging, high‑quality content across multiple platforms. You will contribute to website content, digital publications, newsletters, social channels and partner communications, helping tell the stories of creative people, projects and places.
This is not solely a social media role. We are looking for a strong writer with a good visual eye, curiosity about culture and media, and a desire to develop skills in digital content, photography, video and design. You will work both independently and collaboratively within a friendly, supportive team. This role is ideal for an emerging or established creative looking to build experience, develop skills and expand their network within a vibrant cultural organisation.
