Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has an opening for a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to provide services for a short-term crisis management center in Laurel, MS. The LPN coordinates medical services and provides nursing care for adults with serious mental illness. The ideal candidate will have experience in behavioral health and a professional, compassionate demeanor. The LPN works with the mental health care team to provide safe and effective treatment during crises to promote a positive environment and help individuals return to their community.

Position will cover 12 hour shifts on a 3/2 rotation.

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
• Charts progress, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations.
• Provides information regarding changes in progress to the Charge Nurse.
• Provides emergency services as needed.
• Manages staff/unit when the RN is indisposed.
• Assists in leading groups.

• Valid MS LPN license
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• Behavioral healthcare experience preferred
• Crisis de-escalation skills required
• Excellent verbal and written skills required
• Experience working in a crisis unit preferred
• Desire to work with consumers who have a serious mental illness diagnosis
