Laborers are required to perform an Area Inspection of the area of the plant they are covering and turn in the signed and completed area inspection upon completion of their shift.

  • Laborers must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders, shovel, sweep, operate wheelbarrows and communicate with other employees via radios.
  • Laborers may also be required to operate equipment and tools on an as needed basis including but not limited to: electric and pneumatic jackhammers, impacts and hand tools, using poke bars and scrapers, air lances, forklifts, bobcats/skid steers.
  • Additional general tasks for Laborers include but are not limited to inspecting belt lines, rollers, water and oil flows and levels, bearings, motors, drive belts and chains, hoppers and chutes, ducts, mechanical linkages, inspecting fire extinguishers and safety equipment, etc.
  • Description of general duties for ICC Laborers:
  • Sweep, shovel and do general cleanup of areas as needed.
  • Occasional jack hammering (electric and pneumatic) of hardened material.
  • Operate vacuum truck and the vacuum hose to clean bulk spills.
  • Operate various pieces of mobile equipment as needed after being task trained on.
  • If trained, fill in on various jobs in other departments.
  • Occasionally manual carry parts inventory or other materials.
