Salary$16.50 - $24.75 Hourly ($34,320 - $51,480 Annually). The position is a Pay Band C2.
Program OverviewThe NMBHI Residential treatment program provides inpatient services for individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. The program offers inpatient detox services, anti‑craving medication assistance, and encourages medication‑assisted treatment (MOUD) during and after treatment. The clinical team focuses on developing healthy coping skills, identifying behaviors that promote substance use, and creating relapse prevention and discharge plans. Clients participate in supervised recreational activities and a mix of individual and group counseling.
JobPurpose
This position will rotate duties between admissions, detox, residential group therapy, and structured recreational activities. The role works individually with clients to establish follow‑up appointments and after‑care plans before discharge, building rapport and trust to support continued participation in the program.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain a basic set of vitals.
- Learn about chemical dependency and recognize and score withdrawal symptoms appropriately.
- Manage emotions and personal responses, even in challenging conditions.
- Communicate with the team and management to ensure daily goals and objectives are met.
Our program serves individuals in San Miguel, Mora, and Guadalupe Counties and welcomes all residents and visitors of New Mexico to inquire about substance abuse treatment.
Ideal Candidate- Experience working with populations carrying primary/secondary diagnoses of substance use disorder requiring medically managed withdrawal and intensive residential treatment.
- Experience working with treatment teams.
- Experience in hospital settings.
- Experience with clients struggling with substance abuse or chemical dependency.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Employment Requirements- Current driver’s license.
- CPR Card.
- SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION – subject to pre‑employment and random drug testing, background check, and continuous legal compliance.
- Successful completion of a post‑offer criminal background check and HIPAA compliance.
The position works in an office setting with exposure to visual displays, PC, Microsoft Teams, email, and phone. The work environment is an adult residential treatment center with detox patients and clients who may exhibit unpredictable behavior.
