The Operations Manager serves as a key member of the base leadership team by coordinating and directing the activities of team members involved in safely providing requested services for general aviation aircraft, crews, residents, and guests. At times, this position will perform the same or similar duties as those assigned to their workgroup. The Operations Manager uses expert knowledge of the company’s policies and standard operating procedures to provide efficient and exceptional service to the guests of the private aviation terminal (PAT).
An Operations Manager must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, holidays, and weekends. Certain functions will be performed in varying weather and environmental conditions such as precipitation, extreme temperatures, jet engine fumes, dust, and noise. The tasks are performed inside and outside near stationary and moving aircraft (including spinning propellers and engines) and ground service equipment.
Minimum Education and/or
Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience and/or training in aviation or cargo operations or an equivalent combination ofeducationandexperience is required.
- Trained and approved to perform specialty responsibilities (e.g., oil and oxygen service for aircraft) and other required certifications (e.g.,towing, deicing) as required by base specific operations is preferred.
Ability to become approved is required. - Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Abilityto passcompany background checks(criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, meet airport background check requirements to receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge,andbe insurable by the Company's applicableinsurance policies.
- Excellent vision and coordination to move and/or direct aircraft.
- Abilityto passa color vision test for purposes of visuallyinspecting aviation fuel.
- Mustbe legally authorized to work inthe jurisdiction of employment.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Certain Pats require a commercial driver’s license (CDL) asdictatedby localregulationsand business needs.

Must be able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Experience with conflict resolution in a hospitality environment is preferred. - Language

Abilityto read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating instructions,and procedure manuals,and for safety-sensitive tasks, in English. Clearly communicate in English with others in person, via telephone,radio communicators, and in writing. Abilityto write routine reports and correspondence. - Math
Skills:
Abilityto perform simple math (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions,angles, degrees, time). - Physical Ability: Mustbe able to physically enter/exitandoperate motor vehicles and ground support equipment such asfuel trucks, vans, tugs, freight handling equipment, and cars in addition to all physical requirements on the included chart.
