- Pay Considerations – The starting salary for the position is $55,875.14. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36-hour work week), Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced in case management within a court or social services setting. They are comfortable working with justice-involved individuals, conducting assessments, coordinating community resources, and maintaining accurate, confidential records. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
The RoleUnder general supervision, as part of the Court’s collaborative Community Approach to Rehabilitation and Engagement (CARE) Program team, works closely with CARE Program participants in obtaining health, residential, financial, and social service resources to assist in supporting identified needs. Monitors the compliance and success of each participant, and participates in the sentencing plan and provides advisory and consultative services related to the CARE Program.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or closely related field.
- Two (2) years of experience working in a criminal court or rehabilitation facility.
- Equivalency:
Six (6) years combination of education, related work experience, and/or training in the direct provision of substance abuse and/or mental health treatment services. The city assesses one (1) year of full-time related work experience as equivalent to one (1) year of education. - Must obtain certification in NCIC within the first six (6) months of employment and maintain certification in NCIC as a condition of continued employment
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Nevada state driver’s license, and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- Experience with interviewing, alternative sentencing programs, or experience with social service or counseling agencies that deal with behavioral and/or substance abuse issues is preferred.
