OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Forklift Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our forklift and heavy equipment fleet. This is NOT a forklift operator position. This is a Forklift Mechanic role focused on repair and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of forklifts and heavy equipment (gas, diesel, and electric).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.
- Conduct inspections and tests to proactively identify potential issues before they elevate.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
- Respond to service calls for both shop and field repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in forklift and material handling technology.
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational certification in mechanics preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (company vehicles may be provided for field work).
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Must supply own tools (preferred).
- OEM certifications (Toyota, Hyster, Crown, etc.).
- ASE or equivalent mechanical certifications.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
