Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic & Diesel Lube Tech to maintain, repair, and inspect a fleet of over 90 vehicles, including light- and heavy-duty tow trucks, trailers, and company vehicles. The role ensures DOT compliance, operational safety, and vehicle reliability. Candidates should be experienced with diesel and gasoline engines, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance.

- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections and DOT-compliant checks.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform brake, suspension, drivetrain, and other system-specific repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation in the company’s maintenance system.
- Coordinate repair schedules to minimize operational downtime.
- Follow OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Test drive vehicles to verify proper operation and safety.
- Assist with emergency repairs or road calls as needed.
- 3+ years’ experience in fleet, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Experience with brakes, suspension, hydraulics, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
- DOT-regulated fleet experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must provide personal hand tools.
- CDL (Class A or
B), ASE, or OEM certifications are a plus. - Bilingual a plus but not required.
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, and climbing.
- Regular use of hands to operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift/move up to 75 lbs.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, depth perception, and color vision.
- Indoor and outdoor shop environments with exposure to noise, mechanical parts, fumes, and varying temperatures.
- PPE required per company safety policies.
- Strong technical skills in diesel and gasoline systems.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
