Remove old flooring, clean, and level subfloors for proper adhesion.
Measurement & CuttingAccurately measure and cut materials (carpet, tile, vinyl, hardwood) to fit.
InstallationApply adhesive, nails, or staples; install padding, trim, and flooring according to design and manufacturer specs.
FinishingFill joints, apply sealants, and trim excess material for a seamless look.
Maintenance/RepairPerform repairs on existing floors as needed.
Safety & CleanlinessMaintain a clean worksite and follow safety protocols.
EssentialSkills & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in installing specific flooring types (vinyl, tile, carpet).
- Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of materials, tools (cutters, stretchers, hand tools), and blueprint reading. - Physical Abilities: Strength to lift heavy materials, stamina for bending and standing.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, good math/measurement skills, time management, and communication.
- Education: High school diploma often required; vocational training preferred.
- Work Environment: Physical demanding; lifting, bending, working with chemicals/adhesives; settings include residential homes, commercial buildings (offices, restaurants).
