Lead Alarm Technician - Commercial Security Systems
Position OverviewThe Lead Alarm Technician is responsible for managing, executing, and completing full installations of commercial security systems from start to finish. This role oversees all phases of system deployment—including planning, installation, programming, testing, quality control, and customer handoff—while leading a team of technicians to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all on-site installation activities for commercial burglar alarms, access control, CCTV, and integrated security systems.
- Oversee project timelines, materials, and labor to ensure efficient and accurate job completion.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal project managers.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and job scopes to plan installation strategy.
- Perform complete installations including cabling, device mounting, panel wiring, system programming, and network setup.
- Configure, test, and commission all system components to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide corrective solutions during installation and final commissioning.
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
- Assign tasks, guide daily workflows, and mentor junior technicians to develop skill sets and increase overall team efficiency.
- Conduct on-site training for technicians on installation methods, safety protocols, and system programming.
- Perform quality checks on work completed by the installation team to maintain company standards.
- Complete accurate daily job logs, material lists, change orders, and as-built documentation.
- Provide customer training and system demonstrations upon project completion.
- Report project progress, site issues, and resource needs to project managers or leadership as required.
Required
- 4+ years of experience installing commercial alarm/security systems.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial intrusion systems, access control platforms, and CCTV technology.
- Ability to lead and motivate installation teams effectively.
- Proficiency with low‑voltage wiring, network configuration, and system troubleshooting.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background requirements.
Preferred
- Experience with major security system manufacturers (e.g., Honeywell, Bosch, DSC, Lenel, Genetec).
- Certifications such as NICET, OSHA 10/30, or manufacturer‑specific credentials.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
This is a Contract position based out of Las Vegas, NV.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
