Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Airport Plumber position. This position performs journey-level work on a multitude of plumbing and pipe fitting systems for various commercial facilities, including but not limited to the maintenance, repair, remodeling, and installation of those systems. This includes repair and maintenance of restroom fixtures, flushometers, and drain line issues, as well as the maintenance, repair, and sanitizing of Aircraft Potable Water Systems to ensure clean drinking water per Federal and International regulations.
Further, this position performs maintenance, repair, and replacement of pumps and controls for a variety of sewage lift and de-watering stations, as well as the water supply to Triturator Systems and their waste discharge. Additionally, this position requires knowledge of looped water systems supplying fire sprinkler systems and domestic water for maintenance and repair purposes, as well as the installation and repair of hydronic components on specified heating and cooling and related equipment.

Education and ExperienceEquivalent to graduation from high school AND seven (7) years of skilled experience in the plumbing trade. Successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a plumber may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience. Attendance at a recognized trade school is desirable, as is experience with piping systems and equipment in an industrial or plant setting.

Working ConditionsWork extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations.
Licensing and CertificationMust possess a valid Class C Nevada Driver's License at time of hire.
Pre-Employment Drug TestingEmployment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
Medical ExaminationEmployment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Residency RequirementPermanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

Background CheckEmployment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
