NETA II Field Technician

NETA II Field Technician (Field Technician II)

Pay: $32-48/hr

The Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain high, medium, and low voltage electrical power equipment, including SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, transformer systems, grounding, instrument transformers, and switches. Technicians will implement safety policies and support senior technicians.

• Perform entry-level testing of high, medium, and low voltage equipment independently while collaborating with Senior Technicians.
• Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.
• Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.

Required

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Pass a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Ability to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.

Preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Voltage Verification, Contact Resistance, Insulation Resistance, Test Equipment Set Up, reading one-line drawings, understanding equipment identification and hazards.
• Practical application of electrical theory and hazards (LOTO, Arc Flash, Grounding, reading electrical schematics).
• Ability to test breakers, transformers, CTs, PTs, cables, and grounding equipment without supervision.

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant industry experience.
• NETA II certification.

• Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
