Position

SECURITY OFFICER - (PT)

Job Description

The Security Officer is responsible for performing protective, preventative, safety, and security‑related functions throughout the facility to ensure the safety and well‑being of customers, visitors, and staff. Implements and monitors all security operations in accordance with applicable laws and company policies, maintaining a courteous and restrained approach while coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, and threats.

Responsibilities
  • Observe and report all activity occurring in the assigned area.
  • Provide guests with directions and assistance.
  • Escort venue entertainment and officials during transportation.
  • React promptly to all disturbances throughout the venue.
  • Ensure guest and employee safety while on Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas property.
  • Check guest identification upon entry to the venue.
  • Prevent weapons or harmful items from entering the venue by inspecting each guest and enforce policy regarding photos, videos, and recording devices.
  • Safeguard against theft and property damage.
  • Communicate clearly using radios, hand signals, and flashlights.
  • Remain in constant contact throughout the shift.
  • Provide assistance at crime or injury scenes to employees, guests, and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of state entertainment and alcohol regulations and applicable sections of the Nevada State Revised Statutes.
  • Enforce and follow set procedures in emergency situations.
  • Work in a team to provide the best overall guest experience.
  • Perform other specific duties as may be required by the contract.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, uniform, and manner at all times.
  • Control access of employees and/or visitors.
  • Respond to intrusion, fire, and health/safety related incidents.
  • Maintain legible and accurate duty and visitor logs.
  • Greet staff and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with police, fire, and emergency medical personnel.
Requirements Non‑Physical Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in live event security, military, police, law enforcement, general security, or another peace officer position.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably in English.
  • Valid work credentials required.
  • Previous experience working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced, live entertainment venue preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn the layout of the facility, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Qualifications (General Requirements)

The physical qualifications listed below are general requirements for this position. The actual exertion level (and frequency of use) can and does fluctuate depending on the individual tasks being performed.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances.
  • Ability to move throughout the venue during the entire shift.
  • Must have the endurance and ability to walk between 3–5 miles per shift to ensure adequate patrol of the assigned area.
  • Must be able to lift and carry the equivalent of an incapacitated adult approximately 150–170 pounds to a safe area in times of extreme emergencies.
  • Must possess the dexterity in the hands and fingers needed to use various security tools and keys.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate over a two‑way radio and telephone.
  • Visual abilities needed for detailed paperwork, security observation, and inspection.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with loud music and crowds for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
