Position Overview
The Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for identifying, investigating, and mitigating loss-related incidents through proactive analysis, thorough investigations, and strategic loss-prevention initiatives. This role partners closely with leadership, Human Resources, and Law Enforcement to protect company assets, uphold accountability, and reduce shrink across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive investigations utilizing CCTV review, exception-based reporting, data analysis, and other investigative techniques
- Document investigative findings and process disciplinary actions in partnership with leadership and Human Resources
- Prepare detailed, accurate investigative reports and manage criminal case documentation in coordination with local Police Departments
- Pursue asset recoveries through restitution agreements, civil demand, or court summons as applicable
- Conduct professional, objective interviews with team members involved in potentially sensitive or high‑risk situations
- Navigate and analyze AT&T and My Wireless systems to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes of loss
- Develop and execute strategic game plans to mitigate loss, improve controls, and reinforce accountability at all levels
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
- Support leadership with insights, recommendations, and loss-prevention strategies based on investigative outcomes
- Reduced shrink and loss trends
- Timely, well-documented investigations
- Strong partnerships with leadership and law enforcement
- Consistent accountability and measurable risk mitigation
- Proven experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Investigations, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, reports, and video evidence
- Experience with interview techniques and investigative best practices
- Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clear, concise report writing
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal partners and external law enforcement agencies
- Proficiency in navigating multiple systems and platforms simultaneously
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- Ability to manage multiple investigations while meeting deadlines
- Experience in wireless, retail, or telecommunications environments
- Familiarity with restitution processes and criminal case management
- Knowledge of local and state laws related to theft, fraud, and workplace investigations
