This is a full-time on-site role for a Field Biologist based in Las Vegas, NV. The Field Biologist will be responsible for conducting field surveys, assessing wildlife habitats, monitoring sensitive species, and implementing mitigation measures for regulated species. The role requires detailed documentation of findings, contributing to environmental reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Collaboration with team members, clients, and regulatory agencies is central to fulfilling project needs effectively and efficiently.
New hires without relevant experience in the Mojave Desert will attend a training class, consisting of field and classroom training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field
- Physical ability to conduct field surveys
- Must live in Las Vegas or the surrounding area by the start date
- Must have own personal transportation to commute to and from SNEI’s office. Work vehicles are provided for fieldwork to and from work sites.
- DMV driving record for past 3 years may be requested
- Applicant must be self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and be enthusiastic about conservation.
- Experience with GPS / ArchGIS / Field Maps / Survey 123, is a plus
- Experience in working with desert tortoise and other protected species is a plus
