Job Title:
Jr. Exploration Geologist
As a Jr. Exploration Geologist, you will assist the Exploration Geologist with program logistics and data collection. Your role will encompass overseeing day-to-day drilling logistics, sample collection and tracking, and drill core and chip logging. You may also be involved in mapping, grab sampling, and channel sampling activities.
Responsibilities- Assist in collecting data generated from drill programs and mapping/sampling projects.
- Set up a shade canopy and table at the drill site.
- Transfer core segments from a drill press to a table.
- Collect core measurements and place core onto a pallet for transportation.
- Use a rock hammer to break up core if needed.
- Log drill cores and chips into database management software, ensuring strict QA/QC protocols for data input.
- Assist with sample tracking and management for drill programs and mapping projects.
- Guide Exploration Geology Technicians in their daily duties and provide daily task outlines.
- Engage in physical activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Comply with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Education or Work History in Geology and Environmental Science.
- Undergraduate degree in Geology.
- 0 – 3 years of experience in exploration and/or resource definition.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based at a project site in California. You will drive to a company pickup location in Henderson and be transported to the work site. Work conditions can be extreme with exposure to high temperatures in summer, cold in winter, dust, and high wind conditions. The site also has a daily blasting schedule and abundant desert wildlife and plant life.
Expect to work Monday through Thursday, with team vehicle transportation provided to the job site.
This is a Contract position based out of Las Vegas, NV.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
