This position requires the candidate to reside in Nevada, Utah, or Arizona. Candidates outside of these states are preferred to live near a major airport to support frequent travel throughout the West Coast.
OverviewThe Technical Sales Representative is responsible for developing, managing, closing, and expanding business opportunities within target accounts. This role executes the sales process across the full portfolio of products and services within a large territory, with a primary focus on developing existing customers with machining needs.
Strategic planning is a key component of this role to build and maintain a strong pipeline of new and existing customers. This requires a thorough understanding of the market and the solutions and services the company provides.
- 50% focus on net new business and 50% on growth and retention
- Leads are self-generated through the existing customer base, networking, referrals, and related efforts
- An existing pipeline of customers will be inherited
- Execute the full sales process to identify, quantify, and justify the appropriate value proposition by aligning customer needs with company capabilities
- Meet and exceed sales targets with fiscal accountability within assigned budgets
- Meet with target prospects, build relationships, provide solutions, negotiate, and close deals
- Develop sales strategies and tactics to acquire new customers through inside and outside sales efforts
- Grow, maintain, and leverage professional networks to meet potential customers
- Research and build relationships with both new and existing customers
- Confidently conduct cold and warm outreach to prospective customers
- Establish and maintain accurate prospect and customer records in the CRM
- Provide recommendations to management on effective sales methods and techniques
- Schedule appointments with new and existing customers to review applicable products and services
- Stay current on technological trends, business environments, industry threats, and market changes; report findings and provide recommendations as needed
- Maintain adherence to the sales process while supporting accountability across the sales team
- Play a key role in business planning by collaborating with team members on plans, resource requirements, and long-term strategy
- Align company solutions with customer business needs, challenges, and technical requirements to secure strategic commitments
- Ability to establish and manage executive-level customer relationships
- Experience managing complex sales cycles

- 2- 5 years of sales experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Capital equipment Sales
- Strong work ethic and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and customer relationship management software
- Ability to travel in order to do business
