- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start‑ups, required cash handling, ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day, and opening the back door for deliveries.
- Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Hold store keys to open and close without management as necessary.
- Assist and coach team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including backdoor opening for vendor deliveries.
- Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and in reverse logistics.
- Assist manager or assistant store manager in evaluating and developing displays (promotional, seasonal, super structures, sale merchandise), and complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities, including basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
- Assist with ensuring the Outdate program is followed with team members.
- Responsible for basic department pricing and daily price changes; ensure proper signage is displayed to support accurate pricing and comply with local regulations.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment as necessary.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, orderly store condition, and request repairs as required.
- Assist with separation of food items and product placement per policies, and for consumable items, assist in stock rotation using FIFO.
- Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
- Assist at Pharmacy out window as requested.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Consideration of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
