Responsibilities
  • Greet customers, receive and repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item, receive the correct tender and provide correct change.
  • Enact gift cards requested by customers.
  • Be familiar with the menu and prices.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner.
  • Make corrections to customer orders efficiently.
  • Determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money.
  • Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Ensure customers are completely satisfied.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform; well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment used.
  • Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
  • Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of California Fish Grill and the facility.
  • Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for safety, confidentiality, compliance, teamwork and positive public relations.
  • Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction and appropriate judgment.
  • Uses appropriate communications in sensitive situations and follows up with supervisor, co-workers or guests regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
  • Promotes positive public relations with community, family members and guests.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Prior experience in related cashier or food service positions.
  • Valid Serv Safe® or other approved Food Handler Certification.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
Working Conditions

Restaurant environment. May be required to work beyond normal working hours as needed.

  • Perform multiple tasks.
  • Frequent standing, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling.
  • Maintain composure when dealing with staff and occasionally under conditions of urgency and/or pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
