Cafe Food Server

Description

Summary:

Places food and beverage orders, delivers food to tables and ensures guests enjoy their visit to Cafe. Responsible for attending to guests needs making them feel welcome, comfortable, and important.

• Takes accurate food and beverage orders from guests and places orders with kitchen staff
• Maintains knowledge of all restaurant menu options to answer guests’ questions and places proper orders
• Delivers food to guests, ensuring that the proper order was received and that beverages are refilled
• Communicates regularly with on-coming shift staff and with the chef-on-duty to address issues and concerns
• Attends to guests needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable and important
• Ensures that all food is served within health, safety and sanitation guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Six months previous experience working in a full-service restaurant as a server within the past 3 years preferred
• Must have an upbeat, outgoing, and courteous personality
• Previous experience multi-tasking and remaining calm and professional while working in a fast-paced environment
• Must possess computer skills
• Previous experience working with Info Genesis preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English in both verbal and written
• At least 21 years of age

• Walking, standing or stooping (more than 75% of the time)
• Regularly required to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to work in a moderately noisy, moderately smoky environment
