Experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician

Full‑time | Las Vegas, NV

Cheyenne West Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life‑changing work will range from hands‑on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and monitor procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician required.
  • Current Veterinary Technician licensure in Nevada state.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Self‑motivated.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrate compassion and care for clients’ animals.
  • Effectively and respectfully communicate with all fellow team members and clients.
  • Value client education and assist with some reception work when needed.
  • Has a positive “can do” attitude.
  • Can work collaboratively on a team and is self‑directed.
  • Has strong problem‑solving abilities (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution).
  • Flexible schedule.
About The Hospital

Cheyenne West Animal Hospital is a full‑service veterinary clinic offering a wide array of services. Our qualified staff provide preventative and medical treatment for pets. Our comprehensive care includes medical care, surgery and boarding. In addition to our services, we offer a selection of prescription pet foods and supplies, and we also have an online pharmacy.

We offer primary care as well as boarding, daycare and bathing in Summerlin, Northwest Las Vegas, and West Las Vegas.

Hours:

Monday‑Friday 8am‑6pm and Saturday 8am‑4pm.
