Job Summary And Qualifications
  • You will perform and oversee a variety of duties requiring knowledge of hospital policies and procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the facility, enhance the overall function of all nursing units in the Department of Nursing Service as it relates to staffing, schedules, contract labor utilization, procurement of staff via Parallon, and forecasting of needs related to staffing
  • You will oversee completion daily payroll input in payroll system for contract labor and float pool staff with validation from director, and will interact with all nursing directors, assist in standardization of best practices related to staffing, and assist in writing of policies and procedures related to the overall function of the staffing office
  • You will assist the department directors with the oversight of the float pool schedules and hours, validate all in the facility, clinical and ancillary schedules are completed as specified, and validate that all metrics have been met as much as possible on each unit.
  • You will oversee and maintain a 4-6 week staffing grid indicating needs and will assist in making sure that the schedules are balanced across the departments to reduce large staffing variances in each area of Nursing, ie:
    Med Surg, Critical Care; and will collect data related to upcoming/anticipated staffing vacancies and will keep this information up to date to assist in the determination of contract labor needs.
What qualifications you will need:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous hospital staffing department experience required
