• Summary: Assist with the inpatient management of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients including preoperative, perioperative and postoperative care.
• Availability: Seeking locums to start 9/25/25 and would prefer blocks of availability (2-3 months)
• Setting: Acute care hospital
• Shifts: Rotating 24-hour First Call for the CVT service among two
• Dates: Start Sept 25
• Days per month: 15-20
• Required Procedures: All first assist capabilities for complex surgical procedures.
• Duties: Round on inpatients, coordinate interdisciplinary care with Medical teams, Consult on ER patients, providing diagnosis, appropriate plan of care and referrals as appropriate, Order, interpret and analyze diagnostic tests, Prescribe medications as necessary
• Types of cases: open heart surgeries (CABG, valve replacements, etc.)
• EMR: Cerner
• Support Staff: Clinic supervisor, acute care services director
• Reason for Coverage: retirement and departures
• Deal breakers: no CVT experience
