This position is for a per diem Nurse Practitioner at the LV Durango Family Medicine Clinic in Las Vegas, NV. The NP provides direct patient care based on evidence-based clinical practice standards, performs physical exams, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes interventions and medications, and contributes to patient care, research, teaching, consulting, and leadership within the organization.
Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth patient and family interviews, obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and assess health needs.
- Directly perform or order diagnostic studies and interpret results.
- Develop and implement long- and short-range treatment plans.
- Perform procedures as needed (e.g., injections, immunizations, lumbar punctures, biopsies, wound care).
- Write medication orders and coordinate with physicians for treatment plans.
- Initiate consultations and coordinate scheduling for specialist tests.
- Maintain accurate records, update care plans, and notify physicians of changes in patient condition.
- Counsel patients and families on preventive care and treatment regimens.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in leadership activities related to patient care, safety, research, and education.
- Manage clinic operations related to patient care, rounding, and staff orientation as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school.
- Minimum 5 years of combined education/experience; clinical nursing experience accepted as substitute for minimum experience.
- Excellent communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to perform duties accordingly.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in California and as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with CA Board of Registered Nursing; ability to furnish medications (CA DCA) and DEA certification.
- Board certification as NP (ABSNC or NCCA) and appropriate acute or family/public health certifications if applicable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers;
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as required by clinical setting. - Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) if applicable; additional state-specific licenses for Las Vegas, NV as applicable.
The hourly rate range for this position is $64.00 - $105.60. When extending an offer of employment, USC considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market factors.
