Position Type: Part Time
Mission: The Safety Coordinator represents the church through Ministry (caring for the well‐being of congregants, guests, and staff);
Mission (representing Jesus to those who don’t know Him); and Stewardship (protecting the assets and property of the church).
This position is part-time, 24 hours per week.
Outcomes- Supports the Pastor of Facilities & Maintenance in the safety objectives at Canyon Ridge including the following priorities:
Life Safety, Incident Stabilization, and Property Preservation
. - Organizes and develops a well‐trained volunteer Safety Team that provides a safe campus environment.
- The Safety Team shall be staffed adequately to support events and supplemented as needed with contract police services. Adequate staffing shall be determined by collaboration between the Pastor of Facilities & Maintenance and Safety Coordinator[s].
- Ensures the Safety Team can stabilize and respond to emergencies – including medical incidents – and act as the “help until help arrives” from professional responders.
- Ensures volunteers exhibit the five Staff Values of Canyon Ridge.
- Proficient in Planning Center database and scheduling tool.
- Develops and conducts preparedness training which ensures staff and volunteers are prepared for a variety of incidents. In collaboration with the Facilities Pastor and current Safety Coordinator, an annual training calendar will be established which will specify the types and frequency of training.
- Coordinates with the Facilities Pastor for the implementation of training programs aligned with the training calendar.
- Proactively cultivates and maintains relationships with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and other emergency response agencies.
- Identifies gaps and risks in campus safety and security and constructively addresses those with the Facilities Pastor.
