About The Job
SWG Labs is seeking an on-site Plant Controller to own the end-to-end financial operations of our manufacturing facility in Las Vegas. This role is hands-on and operationally embedded in the plant, responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping tied directly to manufacturing activity, from receiving and purchasing through production, inventory, shipments, and invoicing. This is a critical role for establishing financial accuracy, cost visibility, and operational discipline at the plant level.
Your Role
Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting- Own all inventory transactions: receiving, put-away, consumption, WIP, finished goods, scrap, and shipments
- Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, and labor standards in the ERP
- Track and reconcile production orders, yields, variances, and batch costing
- Reconcile perpetual inventory to physical counts and investigate variances
- Ensure accurate COGS and inventory valuation
- Process purchase orders and receipts
- Match PO / receipt / invoice (3-way match)
- Manage vendor bills, coding, and payment runs
- Resolve vendor discrepancies and pricing issues
- Ensure shipments are properly recorded and invoiced
- Generate customer invoices tied to production and fulfillment
- Track collections and resolve billing discrepancies
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for the plant entity
- Monthly close, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules for plant equipment
- Prepare plant-level financial statements and reporting
- Maintain standard costs and analyze production variances (material, labor, overhead)
- Build and maintain labor and overhead allocation models
- Partner with plant management on cost reduction, throughput, and efficiency initiatives
- Support budgeting and forecasting for the facility
- Manage inter-company transactions and parent company reporting
- Establish and enforce financial controls for inventory, purchasing, and production reporting
- Improve ERP data quality and transaction discipline on the plant floor
- Document processes and train plant staff on financial workflows
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Direct experience with inventory accounting
- Standard costing
- Production orders / work orders
- BOMs and routings
- WIP and variance analysis
- Strong ERP experience (manufacturing system required)
- Full-cycle accounting experience (AP, AR, GL, close)
- High attention to detail and comfort working directly with operations teams
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in chemicals, lubricants, or batch manufacturing
- Prior plant controller or senior cost accountant role
- CPA or CMA a plus (not required)
- Net Suite and/or Sage experience a plus (not required)
- Fully on-site role at the Las Vegas manufacturing facility Mon - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm PST
- Daily interaction with production, warehouse, and operations teams
