As a CAD Designer/CNC Operator
, you will transform conceptual ideas into precise visual representations and technical drawings using specialized computer‑aided design (CAD) software. You will also be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering specifications. This role requires a detail‑oriented individual with a strong technical background and the ability to work with various materials and complex machinery.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting various projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.
- Designing CAD models and drafting 2D or 3D representations for projects such as displays, exhibits, architectural structures, and mechanical components.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including the creative team and designers, to gather requirements and refine design concepts.
- Providing conceptual input during early project stages to shape initial designs.
- Ensuring all CAD drawings and models follow Studio North America and industry standards for quality, precision, and accuracy.
- Managing design revisions and updates based on feedback and changing project requirements.
- Collaborating with manufacturing and production teams to specify materials, dimensions, and processes for fabricated components.
- Conducting quality control checks to verify CAD drawings, identifying and correcting errors or discrepancies.
- Effectively scheduling and prioritizing tasks to meet project timelines.
- Staying updated on the latest CAD technologies and industry trends to enhance design capabilities and propose innovative solutions.
- Adapting to multiple concurrent projects and evolving requirements.
- Participating in safety training and promoting a culture of safety.
- Preparing and setting up CNC machines for production runs.
- Loading and unloading materials and components onto the machine.
- Programming CNC machines using G‑code or other languages as needed.
- Operating CNC machines to manufacture parts within precise tolerances and quality standards.
- Adjusting machine settings in real time to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Creating and modifying 3D models for CNC machining using Aspire or similar software.
- Running routing simulations to optimize tool paths and detect potential issues pre‑production.
- Troubleshooting design and programming errors to improve efficiency.
- Inspecting finished parts with precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance.
- Documenting and reporting deviations from quality standards.
- Performing routine maintenance to keep CNC machines operating optimally.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting machine malfunctions and coordinating repairs.
- Working closely with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Following all safety protocols and company policies.
- Keeping abreast of advances in CNC technologies and Aspire software.
- Identifying and proposing process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
