Operator Entry - Las Vegas

Operator 12 Entry – Las Vegas position at Kinder Morgan, Inc.

• Operate pipeline equipment and pump station/terminal facilities for delivery of refined petroleum products into temporary storage, including local and remote pumps.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and procedure-compliant operations.
• Oversee shift activities and assist in training other operators.
• Monitor pipeline product quality hourly with appropriate equipment.
• Accurately type and verify meter tickets, prepare bill of ladings.
• Communicate equipment abnormalities, failures, and product quality issues to management promptly.
• Maintain accurate, legible, timely input for stream sheets, O/S log, and other required logs.
• Act as liaison among field operations, scheduling, accounting, engineering, and regional personnel.
• Monitor loading rack operations at driver‑operated terminals.
• Keep fully knowledgeable about facility components: lines, block valves, remote locations, equipment.
• Track incoming/outgoing batch changes and start/stop pumps as required.
• Protect integrity of product quality and quantity consistently.
• Perform line rider duties on a limited basis, monitoring pipeline ROW for encroachments and securing pipeline integrity.
• Execute general facility upkeep and maintenance (painting, sweeping, washing, housekeeping).
• Maintain high safety regard for personnel, assets, and public.
• Participate in special projects and other assignments as requested by management.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical training or college a plus.
• Experience: Basic office and administrative experience, handling phones, paperwork, typing; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) with PowerPoint a plus.
• Qualifications: Must pass and maintain all Operator Qualification requirements. Advancement based on time and performance standards.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. TWIC card required if applicable.
• Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical labor in varying climatic conditions; climb tanks, lift up to 100 lb, and work extended shifts.
• Competencies: Proficiency with tank gauging, truck loading, SCADA, teletype; strong verbal and written communication; self‑motivated, team‑oriented, safety‑conscious.

  Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of pipeline hydraulics, cathodic protection, piping, valves, and pressures; experience with storage tank operations and light maintenance.

  12‑hour rotating shifts, 24‑hour call‑out, overtime, potential exposure to refined oil products, and operation under severe weather conditions.

Pay range: $36.00 to $47.00 per hour. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
