As the District Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee the overall management of multiple self-storage facilities. Report to the Director of Operations, leading multiple supervisors of teams (leaders of people). Typically, oversee 3-8 Senior Property Managers, each overseeing approximately 5 self-storage locations, each with 1 or more team members. NSA stores are typically open 5-6 days per week, and District Managers are expected to be in their markets approximately 80% of their time to manage the team and facilities.

Integrity, Accountability, Humility, and Compassion at all levels of the organization. - Host and/or attend virtual meetings on a set schedule (Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually) and be available for impromptu meetings as needed.
- Host monthly 1:1 meetings with direct reports; host quarterly 1:1 personal development meetings (IDP) with direct reports; host quarterly group meetings to discuss team development.
- Partner with Recruiting Department and interview for open positions.
- Coach, develop, performance manage, and mentor team members within the district, including travel with all employees as needed (onsite and virtual).
- Ensure team members complete new hire training and ongoing required training.
- Approve bi-weekly payroll for team members within the district.
- Audit 20% of stores per rotating schedule each month (minimum 1 audit per week) to ensure accuracy of bank records and tenant accounts and adherence to company policies; conduct quarterly audits of Living Quarters within the district.
- Ensure facilities and team members adhere to safety standards, operational procedures, and financial goals.
- Review and monitor maintenance; oversee Maintenance Technicians where applicable and planned capital expenses; ensure assets remain in good condition and reflect NSA Storage brand positively.
- Contract and license oversight.
- All work must be performed in accordance with safety regulations and applicable safety policies and standards.
- Physical activity includes extensive walking (inclines and stairs), lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to walk outside for several hours with the team, in inclement weather; climb multiple flights of stairs; lift storage unit doors; climb ladders as needed.
- Travel by car or plane to inspect properties within the district; ability to travel by rental vehicle, personal vehicle (as policy allows), and by airplane to properties. On-site presence in properties within the district ~80% of working days per month, with rotating cadence; periods of 100% travel may be required.
- Multi-unit property management experience; management experience with leaders of people; excellent time management and multi-tasking skills; strong cadence of calendars and schedules.
- Excellent customer service, sales experience, phone skills, organizational skills, and computer skills (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Power BI).
- Accurate record keeping and filing; proficient math skills for auditing, cash handling experience.
- Ability to host and/or attend virtual meetings and support a culture of being on camera when possible.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver s license, and insurance.
- Must be able to pass and maintain a clean criminal background check.
- Work Monday–Friday from 9am to 5pm; on-call on weekends may be required.
- Must live within 20 miles of the market area or be open to relocating within 20 miles; must also live within 50 miles of a major airport.
