About the role

Flyover Attractions is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Safety (“SM”) to build, lead, and continuously improve Flyover’s safety culture across the group. Reporting directly to the Director, Maintenance Engineering the “SM” will work closely with all members of the Flyover Attractions leadership teams across our North American and Iceland locations and works daily with our location General Managers and Technical Managers to maintain an effective and sustainable Safety culture.

This role implements, audits, and advances safety programs for rides and attractions, facilities, entertainment, food & beverage, retail, maintenance, and guest services. The ‘SM” will ensure regulatory compliance, drive risk mitigation strategies, lead incident investigations, and partner across Flyover to protect team members, guests, assets, and brand. The ideal candidate has a strong background in safety management and process in North America, excellent leadership skills, and a results‑oriented mindset to ensure that Flyover objectives are met.

The wage for this role is $100k/annually CAD and a full breakdown of perks and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.

What you’ll do
  • Champion a proactive culture of safety awareness across all teams
  • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures for operations and maintenance
  • Continuously improve safety programs by identifying and implementing new processes, technologies, and best practices
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to support organizational goals and operational excellence
  • Design and deliver safety training programs, emergency response plans, and drills
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations, maintaining required certifications and permits
  • Conduct risk assessments across all locations and implement mitigation strategies
  • Lead and manage investigations of accidents, injuries, property damage, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Prepare incident reports and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership and regulatory bodies, as required
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with insurance providers on claims and coverage
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field
OR
  • 7+ years of work experience in a safety related field with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
  • OSHA 30-hour general industry card
Ideal Experience
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop cross‑functional teams
  • Proven experience developing and implementing effective operational policies and safety programs
  • Analytical, data-driven approach to decision-making and process improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
  • Familiarity with amusement ride operations, maintenance, inspection standards, and ASTM F24 regulations
  • Knowledge of OSHA and local/state safety laws, and experience with risk assessments for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Skilled in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience creating emergency response plans, conducting drills, and supporting crisis management and evacuation procedures
  • Proficient in safety management software and project management tools
  • Legal ability to work in the U.S., with a valid passport, driver’s license, and access to a vehicle
