Overview

The Fitness Manager (FM) is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience both personally and through Coach supervision. FM’s are responsible for delivering great member service and private training & supplement revenue. They address member issues, employee relations issues, and oversee scheduling and timekeeping activities. They communicate and enforce Company and Club policies and procedures. FM’s are responsible for the successful attainment of revenue goals pertaining to private training and supplements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Staffing and Development:
    Recruit, hire, train and develop a strong team of coaches and potential leaders. Maintain a fully engaged and high performing Personal Training/MMA team that aligns with company values and goals.
  • Club Administration:
    Ensure Coaches are productive, communicate revenue and service goals, and keep the club on track to attain daily, weekly and monthly financial goals. Conduct regular meetings to review performance and operations, and provide direction and motivation toward goals.
  • Member Services:
    Handle member service matters, provide tours, explain services offered by the Fitness Department, sign members up for training agreements and appointments. Mediate member issues and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Operations & Compliance:
    Perform administrative duties, alert Operations staff to repairs and maintenance needs, conduct facility walk-throughs daily. Comply with procedures and perform compliance checks.
  • Revenue

    Activities:

    Sell and conduct personal training with members; assist on the floor to support member involvement in private training; manage client programs, supplement purchases, and measurement tracking; arrive prepared for training appointments.
  • Sales & Revenue Generation:
    Contribute to revenue-generating activities (e.g., complimentary workouts, supplement booths, seminars, workshops); sell training sessions and manage turnover processes for sales when needed.
  • Scheduling & Client Management:
    Achieve monthly revenue objectives for private training and supplements; review daily sales and performance statistics with leadership to identify issues and improve behaviors; administer company policies related to the sales process; independently schedule and manage client appointments; coordinate with clients to arrange sessions according to availability and needs; maintain scheduling records and handle changes or cancellations.
Organization Relationships

The Fitness Manager reports to the Vice President of Fitness. The FM communicates and enforces all policy and procedures with the Fitness Team and interacts with all club members and employees.

Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities:
    In-depth knowledge of Personal Training techniques from assessment to program design; working knowledge of the DotFIT program and software; ability to operate and adjust all fitness equipment; knowledge of company policies, practices and procedures including emergency and safety procedures; strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, enthusiastic attitude; strong customer service focus; professional responses to requests from guests, members and staff;

    ability to follow instructions and organize multiple tasks; computer proficiency (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 1 certification from an organization recognized by UFC Gym; current CPR/AED certification; high school diploma or GED; four-year degree in a related field (preferred); minimum 1 year of related experience; management/employee relations experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand; lift heavy weights and perform movements such as squatting, bending, reaching, spotting; prolonged standing and walking; frequently lift and/or move up to 45+ lbs.
