Position Overview
We are Now Hiring an Assistant Bus Operations Control Manager in Las Vegas, Nevada!
The Assistant BOC Manager will manage all aspects of BOC Operations including on‑time performance standards, service interruptions, detour management, and all other aspects of the transit service. This position will also supervise BOC Agents, Senior BOC Agents, OTP Monitors, and BOC Shift Managers, ensuring they accomplish all assigned tasks and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Assistant BOC Manager will work closely with the BOC Manager to provide guidance and support to all BOC personnel for the goal of maximizing reliability and safety of our transit service for our passengers.

- Provide 24/7 management presence to Transit Operations staff.
- Monitor and evaluate daily Transit Operations activities and employees’ performance, including missed runs, on‑time statistics, total work and pay hours, accident data and other operations related functions.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance and provide disciplinary action as needed.
- Have knowledge of the entire Las Vegas RTC service area.
- Be familiar with all aspects of bus operators, road supervisors, terminal supervisors, and on‑time performance monitoring jobs.
- Know special events that occur in the Las Vegas area.
- Understand and follow RTC and Transdev policies and procedures.
- Ensure performance indicators meet or exceed client and corporate expectations, keeping liquidated damages to a minimum.
- Implement and support business‑critical operations technologies (VDS, Zonar, AVL, etc.) and serve as a subject matter expert on tool usage.
- Manage location performance, recommend best practices, train on technology solutions, and facilitate implementation of those solutions to improve service quality and financial performance.
- Coordinate dispatching, in‑service monitoring, and evaluations involved in daily transit operations.
- Complete necessary daily and/or weekly reports for company and client to ensure service quality.
- Inform BOC Manager of potential operational risks.
- Ensure company vision, values and culture are understood, communicated and promoted throughout operations.
- Manage staff schedules and handle shift fill‑outs.
- Be proficient in Microsoft software, data analytic skills, and lead a team of five or more.
- Work a flexible schedule and all shifts when needed.
- Maintain positive employee and labor relations, providing coaching, promotion opportunities and overall job satisfaction.
- Perform all other duties as assigned and assist with other areas based on location needs.
- At least 3 years of experience working in public transit.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Skilled in customer service delivery, problem‑solving, and decision‑making.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with influence without authority.
- Knowledge of ADA law and ADA service requirements.
- Dependable time management and multitasking ability.
- Flexible schedule including weekends.
- Proficiency using MS Office, Excel, Word, and Windows‑based programs.
Must be able to work shifts or a flexible work schedule. The employee will spend long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen; work will be conducted indoors and outdoors. The position may require walking long distances and operating in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions, including on slippery and uneven surfaces. The employee must withstand heavy traffic areas, exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
