QA Technician

As a QA Technician I, you support the cleanliness, organization, and day-to-day readiness of our data center facilities. You help maintain customer-facing and operational areas to Switch standards. You work closely with other technicians to ensure spaces are safe, clean, and ready for daily operations and tours. This is a hands-on role in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.

Perform general cleaning duties including vacuuming, trash removal, and room organization

Maintain cleanliness across data floors, offices, shipping and receiving, restrooms, and common areas

Complete detailed cleaning in hallways, mantraps, conference rooms, lounges, and plenum spaces

Dispose of cardboard, foam, and pallets in designated areas

Handle basic materials and cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines

Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts as needed

Replace sticky mats and maintain entry control areas

Conduct daily perimeter walks and report issues

Perform minor facility tasks such as replacing light sconces, adjusting door hardware, and tightening handles

Notify leadership when supplies need to be reordered

Follow all safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment

You take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization

You follow procedures and safety guidelines without exception

You communicate clearly and report issues promptly

You manage your time well and stay productive with minimal supervision

You work well with others and support team goals

You present yourself professionally in a customer-facing environment

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

Basic janitorial or facility maintenance experience

Understanding of general safety practices related to cleaning materials and equipment

Basic computer skills, including email and internal communication tools

Reliable transportation to the work site

Ability to communicate effectively in English

Physical and Work Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and use hand tools

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Ability to work indoors and outdoors

Ability to work extended hours during peak periods as needed

Willingness to complete background checks and drug screenings for customer-specific deployments
