We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide assistance to the managing attorney of the firm, ensuring they are able to carry out their duties. You will transcribe legal documents dictated by the attorney, communicate with clients, and compile case materials. The ideal candidate is hardworking and detail-oriented.

• Prepare legal documents from audio tapes, and review documents for completeness and accuracy per the attorney's instructions.
• Proofread for grammar, punctuation and spelling.
• Maintain attorney's calendar.
• Submit and monitor requests for medical records.
• Communicate with clients and witnesses.
• Ensure that case-related documents are well organized and easily retrievable.
• Provide general administrative support.

• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role is preferred.
• Certification or diploma as a Legal Assistant is preferred.
• Familiarity with transcription is preferred.
• Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with document management experience.
• Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail.
