Defense Litigation Paralegal

Overview

Work Model:
Hybrid (One day/week after 90 days)

• Summarize legal documents
• Ability to perform legal research
• Ability to prepare drafts of initial pleadings, discovery documents, motions, briefs, and other legal correspondence relating to litigation
• Check legal forms for accuracy
• Organize case research, notes and legal documents
• Gather and analyze research data
• Perform related work as required

• Strong organizational skills
• Effective communication and writing skills
• Candidates should have an enthusiastic team player attitude and a high work ethic
• Proficient in legal research
• Ability to interact at a professional level with clients and attorneys
• Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule
• In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles
• Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy
• Knowledge of e-discovery tools is preferred
• Trial prep and/or trial experience is required

• Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate are required
• A minimum of five years of defense litigation paralegal experience in the areas of premises liability, products liability, construction and/or commercial litigation
