Job SummaryCMK is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to support one of our partners in Las Vegas, NV. This role will serve as a technical escalation point for complex network incidents and will help drive the development and delivery of enterprise networking platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments.
This individual must be able to jump in immediately and contribute right away, with strong hands‑on expertise in Layer 2 networking (STP) as well as OSPF and BGP routing.
The ideal candidate will work independently, provide technical leadership, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Support project execution, technology planning, and budgeting efforts while collaborating cross‑functionally with minimal supervision.
- Monitor and maintain network systems to ensure availability, integrity, and proper log and backup validation.
- Lead security operations initiatives, including vulnerability mitigation, account management, and compliance support.
- Provide Tier III escalation support, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and root‑cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across cloud and on‑premise infrastructure.
- Participate in network architecture and design reviews to ensure alignment with organizational standards.
- Mentor and guide team members, promoting a collaborative and high‑performing work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking, security, or incident response.
- Strong experience supporting large‑scale physical and cloud network environments.
- Strong hands‑on networking fundamentals, including:
- Layer 2 Switching (STP, VLANs, trunking)
- OSPF routing
- BGP routing
- Hands‑on experience with firewalls and infrastructure technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
- Automation and scripting experience with Python, Power Shell, and/or Ansible.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and strong communication/interpersonal skills.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or Security+.
- Experience with network architecture and design.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring/observability tools and protocols such as SNMP, Net Flow, and related platforms.
- Experience with capacity planning and performance optimization in enterprise environments.
- Hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite per week in Las Vegas, NV.
- Candidate must be able to contribute immediately and serve as a technical escalation point.
