We are seeking an Information Technology Equipment & System Administration Support Specialist to support the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) at Nellis Air Force Base (NAFB) by providing comprehensive IT equipment management, system administration, help desk, and information assurance support across NIPR and SIPR domains. This role supports over 650 users and a wide range of IT assets, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, network systems, and secure communication platforms, ensuring operational continuity, asset accountability, cybersecurity compliance, and optimal system performance in accordance with Air Force standards and policies.

General

Duties
  • System Administration (NIPR/SIPR):
    Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and systems within NIPR and SIPR environments in accordance with Air Force standards.
  • Help Desk & User Support:
    Provide end-user technical support, manage trouble tickets through designated systems, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • IT Equipment & Asset Management:
    Track, inventory, label, and manage lifecycle accountability of IT equipment and pilferable assets in compliance with Air Force IT asset management requirements.
  • User Access & Network Support:
    Manage user accounts, permissions, shared drives, distribution lists, and system access across supported networks and platforms.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance:
    Apply security updates, maintain system compliance with DoW and DAF cybersecurity policies, and support inspections, audits, and IA requirements.
  • Peripheral, VTC & Device Support:
    Install, configure, and maintain peripheral devices, mobile devices, printers, VOIP, and VTC/SVTC systems supporting CES operations.
  • Reporting & Technical Coordination:
    Maintain documentation, inventories, and technical reports while coordinating with Government IT personnel to support system performance and technology refresh efforts.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:

    Minimum of three (3) years of practical IT experience;
    Associate’s or higher degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
  • System Administration

    Experience:

    Experience supporting enterprise IT systems, help desk operations, and hardware/software troubleshooting in a structured environment.
  • Certification Requirement:
    CompTIA Security+ certification (IAT Level II compliant) in accordance with DoD 8140/8570 requirements.
  • Security Clearance:
    Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • IT Asset & Equipment Management:
    Experience managing IT inventories, lifecycle tracking, and equipment accountability processes.
  • DoW / Air Force IT Environment (Preferred):
    Familiarity with NIPR/SIPR systems, Air Force IT policies, and government IT operational environments.
  • Communication & Customer Support

    Skills:

    Strong interpersonal, documentation, and customer service skills supporting a large user base in a mission-driven setting.
