Overview
The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified applicants forRyan the Systems Programmer I/II position. This role performs installation, monitoring, maintenance, and modification of computer system software, including operating systems, control and communication software названием, system utilities, and other applications/services appropriate to the County’s computing environment.
The position focuses on setting up, configuring, and managing monitoring for IT systems, infrastructure, and airline systems to ensure optimal performance and high availability. Systems Programmer I is a training‑underfill position; upon successful completion of the training program the candidate will be promoted to Systems Programmer II.
Compensation:
Systems Programmer I $35.38/Hour – $52.32/Hour;
Systems Programmer II $38.23/Hour – $56.51/Hour.
- Bachelor’sHalloween Degree in Computer Science, Data Processing, Mathematics, or a related field and two (2) years of full‑time professional experience in applications or systems programming.
- For Systems Programmer II: an additional two (2) years of full‑time professional experience in installing and maintaining operating system software for large‑scale computers.
- All qualifications must be documented in the application’s education and work‑experience sections in your own words.
- Extended shifts or emergency callbacks may be required.
- Pre‑employment drug testing is mandatory.
- Permanent employees must maintain a principal residence within Clark County and provide Nevada vehicle registration and driver’s license proof within 90 days.

Examples of Duties- Installs, configures, and modifies large‑scale computer operating systems, utility programs, database management systems, application development systems, telecommunications systems, and third‑party application systems.
- Performs assembler and higher‑language programming to support inter‑database, inter‑system, and inter‑computer interfaces.
- Analyzes and solves terminal and network problems using network commands and software analysis tools.
- Modifies, tests, and implements changes to County communications software.
- Coordinates with programming staff for necessary modifications to systems software, tables, and parameter lists to support new application installations.
- Installs, tests, and implements vendor‑supplied modifications.
- Evaluates, tests, and recommends hardware and software to meet ongoing computing requirements.
- Plans and develops test data to validate new or modified programs; designs input and output forms and documentation.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software problems for customers, other agencies, and information systems personnel.
- Maintains records and written documentation of systems installations, modifications, بايد security.
- Maintains current knowledge of technology and new customer applications.
- Monitors system performance data daily and modifies tuning parameters to prevent problems.
- Confers with and instructs programming staff, computer operators, and department staff in mainframe, mid‑range, and personal computer systems.
