IT Project Manager, Systems Engineer
Description
Zappos is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to revolutionize how the F2 Subsidiary—comprising Zappos and Shopbop—teams rapidly produce innovative customer experiences by incorporating AI tools and agentic capabilities. Reporting to the CTO of Zappos & Shopbop, the Principal TPM will be an agent of change, developing broad-reaching plans, influencing overall approach, and guiding organization‑wide roadmaps and resource allocation. The TPM will own technical programs and cross‑functional initiatives, identify where the greatest impact can be achieved, and ensure the right people, partners, and organizational structure are in place for long‑term success.
Their actions will be felt by Zappos customers and beyond.
- Operate as a Think Big leader and product/program manager, diving deep to connect technical and non‑technical teams.
- Create alignment through clear written and verbal communication consumable by engineers, scientists, PMs, business partners, and leaders up to the CEO and Amazon VPs.
- Obsess over and innovate for customers; define requirements for new projects and drive them to completion.
- Work with customer‑obsessed teams to design long‑term solutions that delight customers and solve hard business problems.
- Use data, customer anecdotes, and technical/business judgment to expedite decision making, manage risks, communicate and resolve issues, make trade‑offs, and drive projects to completion.
F2 Subsidiary Tech supports both Zappos and Shopbop, Amazon Fashion subsidiary businesses with teams in Madison, WI;
New York, NY; and Las Vegas, NV. The Principal TPM will lead across this organization, emphasizing Zappos company/teams needs and supporting the full breadth of the Zappos/Shopbop businesses using both Amazon and bespoke systems to deliver innovative solutions.
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of direct experience working with engineering teams
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience managing complex technology projects
- Experience managing projects across cross‑functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules

CompensationBase pay ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
