Key responsibilities Compensation
- Develop and maintain pay bands/grade structures, job families, and salary ranges using market data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Lead the annual merit increase and performance review cycle.
- Partner with stakeholders and senior leadership to design and update bonus and incentive structures with clear, measurable performance metrics.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking using survey tools and market data; prepare comp-to-market analyses, compa-ratio reporting, and pay-equity reviews.
- Support organizational design changes and new role creation driven by expansion.
- Advise Talent Acquisition and HR on offers, promotions, pay actions, and retention strategies.
- Oversee administration of all benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, HSA, life/AD&D, disability, EAP, wellness, 401(k)).
- Manage Open Enrollment, including plan design recommendations, employee communications, vendor/broker coordination, system testing, and post-implementation validation.
- Analyze enrollment, cost trends, and plan performance; model plan design and cost structure changes.
- Use the HRIS to maintain eligibility rules, waiting periods, qualified life event processing, and leave coordination.
- Lead ACA compliance (1094/1095-C reporting, measurement/stability periods, affordability calculations) and ensure accurate data and timely filings.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and applicable federal and state regulations; maintain plan documents and SPDs.
- Oversee Workers’ Compensation processes, including claim intake, carrier liaison, OSHA recordkeeping, and return-to-work/modified duty programs; monitor loss trends and premium impact.
- Coordinate and support annual Form 5500 filings.
- Build dashboards and models for compensation analytics (range utilization, compa-ratio, pay equity, turnover risk, incentive payout forecasting).
- Serve as SME for HRIS/Payroll/Benefits systems; drive automation, configuration updates, and integrations (e.g., eligibility exports, vendor file feeds).
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Total Rewards/Compensation & Benefits with demonstrated background in:
- Compensation design and analysis (market pricing, pay bands, merit cycles).
- Benefits administration and ACA compliance.
- Workers’ Compensation oversight.
- Bonus and incentive plan design.
- Benchmarking using market surveys (Mercer, Radford, Willis Towers Watson, Culpepper or similar).
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and HR systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Radford or comparable tools).
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
