POSITION OVERVIEW
The Banquet Beverage Porter is responsible for supporting the Banquet Beverage team by preparing and delivering products and equipment to events, maintaining the banquet beverage storage areas clean, and organizing inventories of banquet beverage product and equipment. Organized, flexible, patient, and efficient, this role will be critical to the success of our banquet operation. From presentation to personal accountability to personnel management, and relationship building, from accuracy and attention to detail to multi-tasking and to internal customer service, you will make thoughtful, visible choices in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- This position requires continuous standing for up to 8 hours a day and requires the ability to occasionally lift heavy weight
- This position requires an applicant with general beverage knowledge
- Must have good personal presentation and interpersonal skills
- Maintain overall knowledge of the resort and provide proactive assistance to guests when appropriate using clear and concise conversation
- Ensure stock rotation in the BOH beverage fridges and storage shelves are managed on a FIFO (first in first out) basis
- Ensure all BOH beverage fridges, shelves and equipment are maintained and kept clean
- Responsible for building sets consisting of glassware, juices, mixes, garnishes, beer, wine, liquor, etc. according to operational needs
- Responsible for breakdown of product and equipment for events and placing equipment, and product back in its proper storage
- Moving bars, backbars, tables and other equipment necessary for events to the BOH
- Polishing glassware for events as needed to support business demand
- Maintain cleanliness of BOH and FOH work spaces which may include both mopping and sanitizing areas, floors, bars, tools, equipment, etc
- Assist with staging bars, glassware, beer, wine, liquor, bar equipment and any other needs
- Stock assigned beverage outlets, maintain assigned levels of inventory, including delivery of packaged snacks, packaged beverages, paper products, and other necessary items
- Organize and maintain beverage pump room areas, including pump room products, storage rooms, and walk-in coolers, and identify non-stock items and alert management as necessary
- Maintain pars of liquor, beer, and supplies in cooler and dry storage area, order as needed and orders or requisitions liquors, other beverages and supplies through immediate supervisor or manager
- Restock inventory into storage areas as product is delivered from warehouse
- Ensure use of correct freight elevators and delivery routes to designated banquet areas and hotel outlets
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
- Attend daily line ups and post shifts
- Attend meetings and training sessions as scheduled
- Keep all required certifications current
- Work as a team, assisting guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries
- Maintain Company Safety and Sanitation Standards
- Ensure all areas are cleaned and left to standard at the end of each day
- Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned
- Practices and observes all departmental standards, policies and regulations including safety, and sanitation rules and regulations
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Minimum of six months of experience in a banquet beverage field, preferably in a high volume convention/banquet operation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Food Handler’s Certificate (Health card), Alcohol Awareness Card (AAC, AAT,TAM), Sheriff’s Card.
