Overview

The Operations Manager’s function is to oversee and assist with the daily operations of the Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Housekeeping while assisting with all aspects of the guest experience.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Understand and evaluate complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Must have an active Nevada Alcohol Awareness or TAM card.
  • Must have an active Nevada Food Handler Card.
  • Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager with managing Front Office operations; support other departments in the hotel (F&B, Housekeeping and Engineering).
  • Provide strong lobby presence to assist guests.
  • Provide all aspects of shift coverage in F&B operations as needed.
  • Balance the hotel room type inventory.
  • Ensure all areas of the lobby and F&B operations meet Paramount standards (cleanliness, guest access controls, bathroom cleanliness, outdoor conditions, elevator cleanliness and functionality, signage).
  • Handle guest requests and customer complaints during shift.
  • Perform all other front desk duties and responsibilities.
  • Investigate and handle complaints, disturbances, emergencies, etc. during shift.
  • Perform some Night Audit functions and produce Night Audit reports as needed.
  • Prepare, copy, and distribute reports as required.
