Position Overview:

V&E Hospitality Group is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Utility Porters. The Utility Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities, ensuring that our guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Sanitization: Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting common areas, restrooms, and dining spaces.
  • Trash Removal: Empty trash bins and recycling containers, replace liners, and dispose of waste in a hygienic and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Monitor and clean restrooms regularly, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
  • Floor Care: Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors by mopping, waxing, and buffing as necessary.
  • Light Maintenance: Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department and assist in minor repairs or adjustments as directed.
  • Event Setup: Assist in setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for events, meetings, or special occasions.
  • Stocking Supplies: Ensure that cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and other essentials are well‑stocked and readily available.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with the cleaning and maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Back of House: If applying for the back of house utility porter position, the following responsibilities may be required:
  • Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.
  • Kitchen Cleaning: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area by regularly emptying trash, cleaning food preparation areas, and ensuring equipment is clean and in good working order.
  • Utensil and Equipment Sorting: Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils in an organized manner for easy access by kitchen staff.
  • Assist Kitchen Team: Provide support to kitchen staff as needed, including helping with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks during busy periods.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
    • Qualifications:
    • Previous experience in a janitorial or utility porter role is preferred but not required.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying cleaning equipment and supplies.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
    • Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    Physical qualifications:
    • Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively.
    • Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs.
    • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions.
