The Director of Nursing coordinates the provision of home health services to maintain compliance by directing professional practices, company policies, procedures, and standards of practice in accordance with local, state, federal regulations, and URAC/ACHC standards. The DON plans, implements, and evaluates agency services, programs, and activities, with oversight of subcontracted services. The role ensures effective, efficient, and appropriate delivery of services to maintain quality day‑to‑day care for all clients.
The primary purpose is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facilities, and may be directed by the Medical Director to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, minimum five years in home care or hospital nursing, minimum three years of clinical leadership, active registered nursing license in Nevada in good standing, and customer service experience. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required; willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes.

- Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day‑to‑day functions of the nursing service department.
- Recruit, retain, and train nurses.
- Manage nursing department expenses and budget.
- Maintain a reference library of written nursing material that will assist the nursing service department in meeting day‑to‑day needs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
- Assist the VP Operations in developing, implementing, and updating procedures for new patient admissions and ongoing management of active patients.
- Practice continuous training for license.
- Apply agency policies and procedures.
- Develop standards that ensure safe and therapeutically effective service to patients and families.
- Attend relevant continuing education programs and share information with staff.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Nursing Services Department and its programs in accordance with current rules and regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update the Nursing Service Procedures Manual, objectives, and philosophies.
- Assist the Performance Improvement Committee in developing and implementing plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
- Coordinate nursing services with other patient services to ensure continuity of the patient’s total regimen.
- Develop and implement a nursing service organization structure.
- Develop and implement education programs designed to assist staff nurses in progressing from novice to expert practice.
